Walk on the beach almost every morning from January on and you will find astonishing things are happening. Babies babies everywhere..seems their moms are sticking together and bunches of little ones are in the shallows…..For whatever reasons (I have a lot of questions when I leave this world) some of the little ones will make it to adult hood and some will not. Some little guys and gals will outgrow their first home and find other accommodations leaving the smaller ones to the younger ones. The beach is so alive this time of year and yet all one hears are the waves breaking and the shore birds arguing.

Look for your favorites and get those postcards that show the most popular found on Ft Myers Beach. These islands are the best for shelling and the assortment changes with the season. If you pick up a beauty, always check to see if someone is at home. If there is a living creature enjoying his new digs….put it down gently and walk away. I’m sure it is the ‘best’ you’ve seen that morning but it is still out of bounds. Not only is it AGAINST THE LAW it is just not nice to kill a little animal/sea creature. We need them for the waters we love the others who LIVE in those clear waters.

So enjoy….ooh and ahh and look into their tiny homes to watch their eyes look back. Keep them in their homes and their neighborhood……and if you remember markings….you will see them again next year and the next….Just kidding…………..maybe
