Haven’t written in a while…lots of posts start out this way….for me it is mainly because I have been so angry and ashamed, I couldn’t. Am going to try to do better by looking at this situation we are in in these United States….

My question today regards your representation….or lack thereof. Have you been contacted by your representative in Congress this year, last year, anytime? Has there been a call or written contact asking for your opinion about anything? Does he/she want to know from you how he is doing?

I’ll go a step further…..Other than a list your person in Congress might run across, do they know if you are a Democrat or Republican? Do they have any contact regularly with your town unless there is a disaster of some kind? Do you think he/she knows if you are a Democrat or Republican?

Have you contacted any of your representatives regarding ANYTHING ABOUT ANYTHING and if so, have you received an answer other than a standard response sent to everyone “thanks for your letter, we are looking…etc, etc, etc. Have you ever received or seen solutions discussed in any type of communication from your congressional representative?

mmmmmmmm……..neither have I

Regardless of your political choice when voting, have you felt helpless regarding the amount of people coming in to the United States? Do you wonder what will happen to them? Do you feel we are not being told the whole story? Do you feel guilty of being sad one day and mad the next concerning all these men/women/children coming to this country with no plan at all?

It makes no difference to me if you are a Democrat or Republican…..It certainly does to your Congress people who want to tell others how you feel and ASSUME what you stand for…….and as I see it, that’s about it.

We cannot continue to be separated by political party name…we are being dumped into groups where we find we really don’t agree with, just because we are a political party name….not me, not anymore, I resign….

We should not be defined by our party…..look at your neighbor…..you are more alike than you think you are….

Respond if you like but at least think about what I’ve posted. You have awakened another morning to be a part of the greatest nation in the world…

Want to put all the ‘rules about body’ all behind us now that it has come out….what a shame. There are so many solutions to birth control. Why hasn’t anyone made a uproar out of those ideas? I vote for any kind of birth control that will keep women from getting pregnant in the first place…why are there such stigmas concerning this common human interaction? No one group stands out to help care for and nourish babies into young adults….they don’t want to be bothered because it is another form of birth control that involves a lifetime of work. So why not….instead of bellowing about abortion, bellow about not getting there in the first place, when abortion is not a choice. later

Am hopefully going to turn 79 this year and watching the uproar about dropping Roe vs Wade continues to be a problem for many…instead of the solution it should be…My body my choice seems to work well with men when it comes to unwanted pregnancies, but not with the newly pregnant woman. I am for the idea of making the man pay child support at least until age 18 as soon as the required DNA test concludes that he is the man who impregnated the woman. Let’s call him what he is….not a father, and not a daddy…..just a male who does not know what to do with his anatomy. No one, absolutely no one has the right to rule women in a different way than they rule men….when it comes to pregnancy and the responsibility it brings. No preacher, no pope, no religion, no quotations taken from the past, no judge, family member, or opinion of race, creed, color, or background have that right to rule over any woman about their pregnancy. Don’t like the problem of unwanted pregancy…don’t get’em pregnant!

No I do not work for the a newspaper…..no I am not a Republican or Democrat at this moment, for this post. I am a VOTER!

I seems lots of people have forgotten about ‘the voter’…. But if one looks closely and listens closely, one realizes we know and recognize ourselves each day. We live in small towns and big cities. We home school and send to school. We watch news, sitcoms, and documentaries. We believe in God but proclaiming it comes softly and with few words..

We farm and we manufacture, we buy and sell. We save and invest, watching the stock market fluctuate with our retirement program. Our children have pets, take ballet, and swim lessons. Mothers are worried when their sons want to play football, and when their daughters do gymnastic cheer. Yes, we are the voters of this country.

And yet, we seem to be forgotten, overlooked, or just plain ignored. It was our understanding that people who chose to rise to public office did so because they felt the calling to represent us. They spoke to us in front of court house, in meetings at the local school, in family homes, and on street corners. They saw the need.

We didn’t change, we are still ‘the voter’. You, our representative, our voice, our redeemer, our trusted friend……have. We do not see you unless you are on a step in front of a public building with a microphone. We do not see you in attendance in the house or senate when the camera pans one of the most, if not the most important room of working democracy, in the world. We do not see you in our home town or district, or even our state, and the ‘surveys’ we get are slanted to the party of the sender and really another request for money.

You didn’t sell your soul to the voter, you sold it to your party and your position and guess what…..we all know it. Quietly, voters all over this United States discuss this…..They know who THEY are and who YOU are.

We also know, in our conversations, inside McDonalds, or Wendys with the morning breakfast crowd, that we are united almost 70% of the time concerning the running of our county, our state, and our federal government. We do not throw red or blue in to the conversation. We do not throw the color of each other’s skin in the discussion. We do not ignore problems of the Union with comments of ‘not working together’, and then return to chambers to trade off new street names, new basketball facilities, additional bridges, and 2 to 4 lane roads to nowhere. We know you, we know ‘fluff’ and we don’t like it.

We know Mr. Trump is waiting in the wings…Some of us wish there were more ‘mr.trumps’ waiting in the county court houses and all the way up to what we Americans think of as a ‘sacred democratic home of freedom’. It is time you did what we tell our kids to do when solving a problem…….’go look in the mirror’ and re-affirm what kind of person you are to the American voter. Your inability to stand up to the huge responsibility of representing us is so embarrassing. It is time for you to come home, not to speak, but to listen, not to blame but to accept blame….and to apologize for your actions and inactions.

History shows us that both parties and other political wannabes have bickered, confessed, and denied while trying do decide what was and is best for us, the voter. In the end though, it was the voter who was the victor, not the politician. Today, it is no one.

Contrary to popular opinion, you are not the deciding factor if you are in Washington…..states and their governments have a large say-so in many decisions you don’t need to worry about (that means ‘give up control) and go to your senate or house chair every day except ‘committee’ day…(novel idea committee day).

We will soon be voting whether to allow you to keep your seat or replace you with a new person who hopefully will listen and respond to us. If you keep it, fine, if you don’t fine…..but the sound of the ‘voter’ is ever so quietly walking towards Washington.

P.S Mr. Trump….Put together your organization and be waiting in the wings….and become the true statesman you are. Prove to the other party you are a president and problem solver for all….I’m sure Queen Elizabeth will give you some wonderful advice on how to handle ‘details’ that the crown should not discuss in the public forum.

Today I want to speak about the US Post Office…..

l love them….They are always there for me. They do their job and cover sprinkles on it. I never lose mail. It always come to my house…no matter where my house is. If they are late…..the reason is a real emergency. If they accidently lose it…..yep, they find it AND deliver it…whether it is 1 week or 1 year or 5 decades late.

I know it costs money and I remember the 1 cent stamp and still I will not complain, but am joyous that they are always thinking of me. My magazines are delivered clean and on time. The ads I don’t want are delivered clean and on time. Monetary requests from everyone are delivered clean and on time. If it is as light as a feather, it is delivered undamaged and when there is an accident, it is commented on. The feather arrives with the same respect and dedication as the 10 lb. bag of anything. And speaking of ‘anything’, they deliver almost anything and what they will not deliver, we do not need.

I feel the Post Office and Amtrak are a gift from my government to each person ….and they do not have to even identify as a customer…..if there is mail addressed to……..” ” it will arrive to that address as safe as any other piece in the system.

People want me to type my correspondence because while my penmanship might be attractive, it is difficult to read…..The Post Office overlooks my writing and many many others and does so without any remarks. This government business delivers money, wedding announcements, get well cards, tax bills, auto titles, and birth certificates. Items that mean nothing to some and are worth more than gold to others.

Be proud, be appreciative, be grateful and continue to back the USPS….Amtrak too. They are the best of the best coming from my government and they serve you and I in every village and metro area in these United States. Thank you……
