Been a little behind in watching the episodes, so yesterday I brought myself up to date and finished the season. I guess at times there were ‘no words’ coming out of my mouth and my eyes were glued to the TV. Dang, love the characters and the story and the ‘winding’ and the players coming out of nowhere. What fun the writers must have. Having lived in SoCal for 40 years, I see places (not all of them, thank you very much) that make me homesick. The series continues to be spellbinding and very gritty, and the story is as dark as it comes, blending in to all the ‘good’ Southern Californians that go about their daily lives not knowing….cause living on the ‘wild side’ has long since passed them by. Like me ‘thank you Jesus’….just kidding about the wild side!!!!
P.S. Proof once again that our mothers were right….”Nothing good happens when the sun goes down”
Been a long time since I came out of an action movie with my heart pounding and the my skin tingling….really …the juices were flowing and the movie was over an I was in the parking lot!
Dang, that was exciting….I say 8.5 to 9. Denzel is Denzel is the Equalizer!
Pretty good movie…entertaining but no Oscar winner. I don’t mind because I like to be entertained…..On the dark side, however, without giving away the movie…..If you live near the Everglades…it is a phython and iguana story…..not supposed to be here, no one cares, big storm at the python and iguana building breeding and selling to stupid people…and now they are knocking on our front door, literally. Grow up folks….this is serious business….
Am up north for awhile and the garden is calling me…..it is a community garden on our church property and things are popping! Beans are pushing through their mound homes and the summer rains are bathing them with life giving water. After the shower, Mr. Sun comes out strong along with gentle winds to blow them dry.
Since harvest is quite a ways off…the weeds and I are discussing almost every day, who is going to win. They not only hide under the baby plants, they are brazen enough to grow in the dirt between the rows…the nerve! We will continue this back and forth all summer, I’m sure.
The tomatoes are showing off their yellow blooms and the peppers are the first to shed the blooms and grow into 4″ long ‘hotties’.
Corn is up about a foot or so and ‘volunteers’ from last year are showing up in the wrong group…they need to move to be with their friend after the sun goes down.
Bean poles are waiting to be put up…it seems there are never enough hours in the day. I love the demanding nature of a garden now that I am retired….still, if I could make a weed garden, it would be better…
Love the quiet of the farm like acreage….There are mules, goats, chickens, and a mouthy rooster right across the road who like to greet me each morning. The garden gives me time to enjoy time…and mother nature, and me being with me. I’m 74 now and when I garden, I am any age I choose…..that is until I get home and need an aspirin to help me out the rest of the day. Who cares….what a wonderful exchange…..a day of perfection for an aspirin.
It’s not too late….either start one of your own or volunteer at a community garden nearby. The plants will adore you and give their bounty for many people who need veggies on their plate and in their freezer. They can come and pick what they need and we can give to the shelters what we don’t. It is a win-win for all.
Turn off the tv…phone..and computer….listen for the robins, the mouthy rooster, the rumble of thunder now and then, the wind in the trees, and your own heart and soul.Remember life and live it!
